New to Counseling?

Many people think about talking to a therapist long before they do it. If that describes you, we're glad you're here and contemplating making the step to contact us. Generally, counseling involves discussing your experiences and feelings with the counselor. The first session or two will be mainly focused on getting to know you and your unique life circumstances. Together with your counselor, you will decide what problems to focus attention on. Finally, both of you will develop a plan for supporting you with those problems. Along the way, your counselor will help you to develop insight into your problem, and assist you to expand your coping skills and other strategies available to you in an effort to increase your mental well-being.
